Mushrooms Right from the Farm
Used for tea and herbal use, the Turkey Tail is currently creating a lot of interest in the cancer treatment industry, for its ability to boost the immune system, and contains a chemical, PSK, which is thought to have cancer inhibiting properties. It also has components which may help to heal damage caused by cancer.
This is a decorative mushroom, which is dried and used for crafts - it has striking layers of color, likely affected by the temperature of the growing season.
One of the easier mushrooms to grow, it should be picked somewhat immature, before it gets hard. There are people who use it in cooking, but it is most often used as a tea or powder.
This mushroom may help reduce parasites in farm animals. Not recommended for horses or waterfowl.
